"The earth is not just a legacy we inherit from our ancestors, but a trust we hold for all living beings."

Our planet is a collective home, shared not just by us, but by all creatures, big and small. We are guardians of this world, responsible for every life form that inhabits it with us. The web of life interlinks us all; each creature contributes to nature’s balance. In life’s circle, we are one among many species coexisting on this beautiful planet. Every living being is connected, and our health is tied to the health of the entire planet. Harming the earth means harming ourselves, as we are all part of one living ecosystem.
The most successful and powerful people on our planet are those who can best exploit anything." But, unfortunately, with science - as political, competitive, and fierce a tool- they can be full of the temptation to find easy, widely accepted, and authoritative paths to do so."

Climate change is probably the greatest threat and the greatest challenge for humankind in the 21st century.
Sustainability is not a left or right issue: it is a long-term survival and an intergenerational justice and equity issue.

In India 2024 is time for Voting for leaders committed to prioritizing environmental stewardship and responsible policies is seen as an essential step towards ensuring a positive impact on both the Earth and humanity. It encourages individuals to take an active role in shaping a more sustainable world, recognizing that our actions today will reverberate throughout future generations. Embracing such an approach demonstrates an intellectually informed understanding of the interconnectedness between human societies and the natural environment.
Achieving successful holistic landscape restoration is a prolonged effort that yields results when it is embraced and owned by the individuals within that landscape. Transitioning from authoritative top-down approaches to democratic and inclusive bottom-up strategies is a crucial element for success in ecosystem restoration.

A top-down approach often suffers from low community ownership and sustainability due to limited local involvement, fostering dependency and reducing the capacity for self-reliance. Centralized decision-making can alienate the community, leading to short-lived solutions that fail to empower or ensure long-term viability. Without grassroots engagement, such strategies risk creating ongoing reliance on external resources, rather than fostering sustainable development.
Globally, climate change has not been the most important driver of the loss of biodiversity to date. Yet, it is projected to become more important than the other drivers in the coming decades. Climate change will probably be the greatest threat and challenge and adversely affects genetic variability, species richness, populations, and ecosystems in the 21st century.

Climate change may not be a threat to planet Earth instead it is a threat to the survival of a majority of plants, animals, human beings, and to human cultures and civilization. It is no exaggeration to say that the future of human civilization is at risk because we are destroying the foundation for life on this planet. The climate crisis is not a political issue; it is a moral and spiritual challenge to all of humanity."

Unfortunately, the environmental crisis cannot wait for a revolution to destroy capitalism, nor will a post-revolutionary society be environmentally sound unless we manage to change the relationship between humans and the rest of nature.
We must develop networks of like-minded people who are willing to campaign on these issues and work together to build our capacity to organize.
Climate change is probably the greatest threat and the greatest challenge for humankind in the 21st century.
If we allow the Amazon and all other tropical forests to be destroyed… that not only affect all indigenous peoples, but it will also affect everyone because of climate change.

Tropical forest ecosystems cover less than 5% of the Earth's land area, yet they host at least two-thirds of the Earth’s terrestrial biodiversity and provide significant local, regional, and global human benefits. The loss of biodiversity is not only an environmental issue but a development, economic, global security, ethical and moral one.
The dynamic interplay of historical and contemporary human and ecological processes gives rise to spatial and temporal patterns of biodiversity. Increasing evidence suggests that India's old regions' forests, landscapes, and biodiversity result from natural events and centuries of indigenous management.
